Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Volume Multi Balm Review - Deep Hydration
Korean beauty balms are all the rage (at least from a release perspective), so it should be no surprise that Medicube has followed up with the release of their own creamy, PDRN and peptide-infused balm. The benefits of a beauty balm is multifactorial, creating a delicate base for make-up and poreless looks, whilst also providing a lightweight topical treatment to fine lines and hollows (such as your undereye and temples).
We've reviewed a few beauty balms, including the famous Dr Melaxin Cemenrete balm, and there are a variety of every day benefits that can upgrade your routine.
How to Use a Skincare Balm?
Thinking of adding a skincare balm to your routine? They are typically lightweight, creamy balms that you can apply to your skin either in place of or before a moisturizer.
It has a sherbety texture that should melt into your skin, providing a rich hydration that leaves no stickiness or heaviness to your skin. You don't have to do anything to make it absorb, a good balm will melt on its own (leaving a perfectly soft finish).
It's best used to provide spot treatment to areas of fine lines, flaking or dryness in a PM/evening routine. After using toners, serums and face treatments, gently brush a skincare balm along your undereye, across cheekbones, along forehead and jawline and then follow with a hydrating barrier cream.
If using in an AM/morning routine, you can use it to form a base to make-up, which helps blur pores and create a smooth canvas for your best looks.

Who Should Avoid?
This rich, creamy balm is designed for deep hydration, balancing skin textures and reducing fine lines.
The variety of ingredients inside (including a range of plant and flower oils) means I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive and acne-prone skin, as chances are it could unbalance or trigger an outbreak/irritation.
I would mostly recommend it (considering the combination of collagen, PDRN, elastin, peptides and adenosine) for dry skin that needs extra healing, reducing of fine lines and wrinkles and a boost of creamy moisture.
The Results
I have fine lines and skin that loves a little extra radiance. The Medicube PDRN Peptide serum is one of my absolute favourite skincare products, as it creates a deep firming effect that you can feel (and a glow you can actually see).
I was excited to try out the new skincare balm by Medicube, especially seeing how popular it had been online. I added it to my evening routine, as I was mostly interested in seeing the effect it had on skin texture and fine lines.
It has a creamy, sherbety texture that just melts into your skin as you use it. You don't have to massage to absorb it, it absorbs with instant contact with your face. I used it along my undereyes, jawline and forehead to help boost moisture and firm skin.
In just two weeks of use, in my PM routine, you can see the improvement to the fine lines around my eyes and deeper glow. The boost of radiance and hydration to skin was deep and you can literally see the improvement of a soothing, PDRN-rich balm. It's incredibly lightweight, easy to use and a perfect addition for fine line care and deep hydration.
Final Thoughts
With the sheer number of ingredients, I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive and acne-prone skin types, as there's a higher risk of triggers, but it's a great addition for skin that needs a little boost of moisture and fine line care.
