Seapuri Scalpy Hair Serum Review - Restorative Hair Care

Seapuri specialises in scalp care above all and it has been a maintained specialty since 2020. Their famous Scalpy Serum was quick to go viral internationally in 2024, with vibrant videos of hair magically regrowing and thickening with its use. The before & afters are everywhere and show dramatic thickening of the scalp and improvement of small hair growth.

What's the secret of the Scalpy Serum? It contains a careful formulation of active ingredients - so let's break it down further!

Arginine: forms a protective barrier for hair strands, reverses follicle shrinking (in common hair loss conditions) and helps repair androgenic hair loss. 

Vinegar Extract: clarifying extract that helps clear the scalp deeply, seals hair cuticles for a deep shine, whilst providing a natural pH balance preventing microbe overgrowth (for clearer, sweet-smelling hair.

This lightweight scalpy hair serum is ideal for oily, dandruff and easily irritated hair. It's less ideal for very dry hair and you are less likely to see benefit in hair that's not inflammed, irritated or has increased hair fall. 

I have thin hair (which often gets a fun mixture of irritated and oily as well as dry). I also have colour-treated hair, which becomes more brittle and leads to increased hairfall. So, I'm always interested in hair treatments that can improve thickness and reduce strands falling.

I started using the Seapuri Scalpy Serum 4 weeks ago (knowing it takes time and repeat use for results) and would use it after washing and drying my hair. It has a soothing herbal scent and the blend of menthol and vinegar has a light tingling feeling. 

Starting this product, I was warned that results would take time. This serum is designed to use the natural trio of salicylic acid (to clear follicles), vitamin B5 (to moisturize and strengthen hair) and menthol (to soothe irritation and boost circulation). The fastest improvement was to my scalp health and hair shine. Above you can see my scalp before-and-after, and in an instant there was a reduction in flaking, brighter hair shine and an improvement to volume. 

My hair was less flat, irritated and itching (thanks to the menthol), as well as the vinegar added a deep shine to hair strands.

After 4 weeks of use, I felt there was an inherent increase in hair volume (which could have been due to the instant reduction in hair fall). The loss of strands on using the Seapuri scalpy serum was noticeable and helped provide an instant boost to my hair volume.

Above you can see the hairline before-and-after and I couldn't see a stark difference (or deep growth of new follicles), but the serum takes 3 months to notice new follicles (which makes sense).

For high-quality hair shine and volume, you can see an immediate improvement - but re-growing hair requires a dedicated routine. This small serum bottle lasted me the four weeks of semi-daily use, which does require a bit of investment for hair regrowth.

Is the Seapuri worth buying? If you are looking for hair regrowth, you're going to have to be really patient and prepared for long-term use. The short term results are nothing to sneeze at, however, especially if you are after a boost to volume (from reduced hair fall) and a little glow from the hair vinegar.
