Sungboon Silk Peptide Ampoule Review: Does It Really Work?
Sungboon Editor launched into the K-beauty scene just last year (2025) to amazing success. Specializing in mature-age skincare, they’ve created a variety of concoctions and masks using revitalizing retinol, collagen and spicules. Designed for a dose of luxury, none seemed more luxurious than their golden silk peptide ampoule. Coming in a small glass bottle, designed like a medicinal ampoule, it’s a suspended gel formula that holds tiny strands of elegant, golden silk. These absorb easily into the skin on application, to create a delightful experience that should revitalize and enhance your natural youth, whilst reducing fine lines.
This enchanting ampoule has sold out multiple times, leading us to question – but does it really work? Is it really the ampoule to change up your whole routine for, or is it more hype? We put it to the test to see if it creates a visual change and determine if Sungboon Editor is a brand worth keeping an eye out for, or just a hype machine.
What's In The Bottle?
Silk Extract: accelerates skin healing, enriched with plumping peptides, that help cool inflammation and boost circulation for a youthful glow.
Chrondrus Crispus powder: rich in nutrients that help adhere to skin barrier to infuse ingredients, boost hydration and help facilitate deeper absorption of other ingredients. Also gives the ampoule a little ‘jelly’ texture.
Hydrolyzed Collagen: deeply moisturizes skin barrier and enhances firming of skin to reduce fine lines and dullness.
Niacinamide: brightening vitamin B3 that helps reduce dark spots and even skin tone for a radiant, smooth finish. Also helps support collagen production for long-term reduction of fine lines.
Tocopherol: provides vast antioxidant protection and moisturizes skin barrier, creating stronger and healthier skin texture for improved health.
Peptides: contains over 13 different peptides to help trigger collagen and elastin production, boost fine lines, improve skin firmness. This includes Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 that inhibits facial muscle contractions to reduce appearance of fine lines.
Adenosine: moisturizing, anti-aging agent that helps stimulate cell barrier healing, improves peptide and collagen synthesis within cells for brighter and firmer skin.
Heartleaf extract: rich hydrating and soothing agent that helps cool redness and inflammation in skin barrier.
Centella extract: deeply hydrating extract that helps nourish and boost skin health, whilst infusing antioxidants for stronger skin barrier.
Panthenol: refreshing vitamin B5 that helps nourish and strengthen skin biome health to reduce flaking, irritation and scarring.
Hyaluronic acid: plumping agent that absorbs into skin cells to draw moisture towards it and provide deeper, longer-lasting hydration.
Lecithin: boosts protection against irritants to skin (such as dust/pollen).
Probiotics (Bacillus): healing probiotics that helps strengthen skin’s immune system and form protection against harmful and infective bacteria for stronger, healthier skin appearance.
Wormwood extract: powerful extract that helps cool inflammation and redness, to help balance skin tone and cool irritation.
Gold: Gold nanoparticles have been shown to cool inflammation and redness, whilst promoting collagen production and natural skin elasticity for a refined appearance.
Who Should Avoid?
This ampoule is a gentle cocktail of hydrating and soothing ingredients for mature skin. You're most likely to see beneficial results in mature-age skin and best benefits in dry skin types. This ampoule is less beneficial in oily skin types, but is unlikely to trigger acne or irritation (due to it's sensitive-friendly formula).
The Results (Before & After - 2 Weeks)
This ampoule is an exciting addition to any skincare routine. It comes with its own little segmented syringe, that you can use to carefully draw up a measured amount to add to your routine. You have to flip off the plastic cap on the top, to reveal a rubber bunk, which the syringe pierces in order to draw up the ampoule. It adds a little novelty to your routine and is quite fun to use. The ampoule absorbs quickly and is incredibly lightweight, making for a gentle and easy application.
After two weeks of use, it was a pleasant and refreshing experience. It immediately helped reduce appearance of pores, smoothed out fine lines (as you can see around my eye and mouth) and helped lift skin gently. Already in a fortnight, you can see my cheekbone is tighter and more lifted and it helped infuse a gentle glow.
It's actually incredibly gentle, whilst providing slow improvements. If you are after dramatic effect, you can go for more highly concentrated treatments - but if you are wanting something nourishing that won't irritate, this is a great choice.
Final Thoughts
This rich combination of healing peptides is a powerful treatment that can help improve fine lines and gives a deep moisture boost to skin. However, if you are after more dramatic results, this treatment is genuinely quite gentle and unlikely to yield wild results in such a short period of time. It's a support treatment, which is perfect for sensitive skin types or those who are more wary of retinol, spicules or other potentially irritating treatments. If you are after something light and nourishing - this is an incredible ampoule, but it's not going to change your face overnight.

FAQs - Sungboon Silk Peptide Ampoule
Does the Sungboon Editor Silk Peptide Ampoule really work?
Yes, the ampoule is a gentle and richly hydrating addition to your skin to help improve skin texture, moisture and glow. Containing 48% silk water extract, blended with 13 different weights of collagen and peptides - it's at the height of modern skincare, but made for the most gentlest addition to your routine.
Is Silk Good for Anti-Aging?
Silk strands, gently drawn from silkworm cocoons are rich in over 18 amino acids, which help deliver deep hydration to skin, improves natural elasticity. This is due to their stimulation of skin cells to produce collagen from within for firmer, brighter skin texture.
How Long Does the Sungboon Editor Silk Peptide Ampoule Take to See Results?
For lasting results, it takes about 4-6 weeks to deliver enough peptides to the skin for longer lasting firming and lifting of skin. However, the hydrating and plumping effect of peptides will be visible from 1-2 weeks of use, creating visibly softer and more flawless texture.
Who Should Buy the Sungboon Editor Silk Peptide Ampoule?
This ampoule is best designed for dry skin and fine lines, due to the variety of richly hydrating and soothing ingredients.
Is the Sungboon Editor Silk Peptide Ampoule better than Retinol or Collagen Serums?
If you are looking for gentle, soft skincare then this ampoule is a far smoother and skin friendly option than retinol. Collagen serums are a fun addition to your routine, but actually has very little ‘active’ benefits to skin apart from hydration. Active peptides deliver visible firming and plumping action that you can see, making them more effective and gentle than either retinol or collagen.
