Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Pad Vita Touch Review – Lighter Skin from Toning Pad??

Abib has dazzled with their dark spot care line, infused with vitamin C, glutathione and deeply gentle care. But can a toner pad alone really brighten and lift skin texture and tone? See the results in our before-and-after review.

Abib is a natural, sensitive beauty brand from South Korea that has been loved for delicate and deceptively simple formulas that help soothe and refresh the skin. Their Glutathione Dark Spot range has been a big hit in soothing and treating dark spots.

With a balance of niacinamide blended with vitamin C, gentle glutathione to tackle dark spots, this range also includes deeply hydrating ingredients to help plump and soften skin texture. Abib advertised 3 day visible results with this range, offering all of the benefits and none of the irritation of these classic brightening ingredients.

Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Skincare Range with Model

We’ve already tested the night wrapping mask (review is here). It’s a great, hydrating wrap mask, but infused with peptides and collagen it’s actually a far better product for fine lines to help boost your natural glow. So, I was wondering is the essence pad similar? Is it actually going to brighten skin, or does it have a different hidden effect?

Spoiler alert: this essence-rich infused jelly pad is not exactly designed for classic oily skincare. It's instead far gentler, enriched with deep-reaching moisture and actually is incredibly affective for fine lines!

What's In The Bottle?

Seaweed extract: deeply moisturizing and calming extract that helps retain high amounts of water and creates the soft ‘jelly’ texture of these essence pads.

Green algae extract: soothing extract that helps boost collagen synthesis and prevents enzymes that damage skin firmness. Rich in a variety of antioxidants and brightening agents

Centella asciatica extract: restoring herbal extract that helps improve skin healing, reduces blemishes and rich in madecassoside to reduce appearance of dark spots.

Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract: stem cells extracted from Swiss apple, designed to boost skin health, delay aging and reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Allantoin: popular fine-line boosting molecule that helps enhance natural skin moisture, prevent water loss over time and helps exfoliate away dry, dead skin cells for a plump and glowy skin.

Adenosine: stimulates collagen production within cells to boost skin firmness and reduce fine lines across skin.

Glutathione: very gentle antioxidant that helps brighten skin and inhibit dark spots, reducing appearance over time with absolute minimal irritation.

Madecassoside: soothing molecule extracted from centella that helps reduce redness and irritation of the skin, whilst also blocking UV-triggered melanin production for brighter skin.

Beta Glucan: natural complex sugar that helps enhance natural skin moisture, improving cell function and providing barrier repair (especially in dry and flaking skin).

Vitamin C: brightening antioxidant that provides powerful repair to skin, reduces appearance of wrinkles and dark spots, whilst providing a gentle glow to skin.

Ceramides: plumping molecule that helps seal cracks that form in the skin barrier to improve moisture retention and provide deep relief to dry skin.

How to Use

You can use these pads in two main ways (as they are deeply infused with the Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Serum. You can either use the pad as a gentle exfoliating pad, that also infuses the essence into your skin directly after using a toner or you can apply it to problem areas and leave for 10-20 minutes as a soothing face mask.

It's great for gentle skin and for a boost of hydration.

Who Should Avoid It?

It's really an interesting formula. A large majority of skincare brands that provide dark spot care are often more aggressive, as hyperpigmentation is commonly associated with oily skin. However, Abib's formula promises deep, deep hydration (in fact, more of their ingredients are designed for a deep moisturizing essence rather than primarily for dark spot care).

It does indicate that this pad might be more for dry skin types or fine lines that are also hoping to tackle dark spots, but does make it a little less suited for oily and acne-prone skin types.

The Results

Rich in antioxidants and gently hydrating earned these essence pads a spot in my AM/morning routine. I started using them after cleansing and they are lightweight, but strong. They have a slightly textured side to exfoliate and an incredibly soft ‘jelly’ side which is cooling and refreshing to apply.

They were harder to use as a mask with my beard (and were quick to fall off), so instead I was using them as gentle wipes to instantly restore hydration to my skin. It's incredibly gentle, so it's likely to take up to a month to notice improvement to dark spots specifically, but infused a gentle glow to my skin.

They helped firm and soothe, whilst also providing a gentle mixture of vitamins to help even skin texture and tone. Although beneficial for dark spots, these essence pads are an ultimate treatment for dryer skin and fine lines that need a deeper boost to your glow.

The gummy ‘seaweed' extract holds so much moisture that makes it ideal for dry and irritated skin and is boosted with Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, specifically designed for stem cells to enhance mature skin. I think, these pads ultimately are ideal for a fine line routine (rather than just a dark spot one), although you are likely to see an improvement to dark spots over time.

Final Thoughts

These gummy, juicy essence pads are perfect for a little mask moment (if you like having a patch rather than an all-over face mask). They are intensely hydrating and boosts fine lines and skin texture, for a well-rounded and gentle skin treatment. They are not incredibly effective for dark spots, but if you are in need of a sensitive and soothing treatment, this is an easy place to start.

FAQ - Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Pad Vita Touch

How do you use the Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Pad?

You can use these essence-rich pads in two ways: wipe gently across your face after cleansing as a mild exfoliating toner pad, or place them directly onto targeted areas for 10–20 minutes as a quick, deeply hydrating mini sheet mask.

Is the Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Pad suitable for sensitive or dry skin?

Yes! Unlike many harsh brightening products, Abib’s formula is packed with deeply moisturizing ingredients like seaweed extract, ceramides, and beta-glucan. It provides a gentle, soothing boost that works exceptionally well for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types.

Q: Does the Abib Glutathione Dark Spot Pad help with fine lines? A: Yes. Alongside glutathione and Vitamin C for mild brightening, the formula contains Swiss apple stem cells (Malus Domestica), adenosine, and collagen-boosting green algae, making it highly effective for smoothing fine lines and plumping skin texture.

Is this product recommended for oily or acne-prone skin? A: Because the formula focuses heavily on rich, jelly-like hydration and moisture retention, it is best suited for dry, normal, or combination skin. Those with very oily or acne-prone skin may find it a bit too rich for daily use
