Fwee Shaking Synergy Mist Review: Cooling K-Beauty for Summer

Fwee is a fantastic make-up brand, bringing cool innovations to your make-up bag, from 3D developing lip gloss, to their combo lip-and-cheek pudding pots. They create a balance between fun, cool and aren't afraid to embrace deep colours for a look that are coveted around the globe. With summer fast approaching, it's important to pick looks that can still be fire, but aren't going to bake into dry or oily messes as you go about your busy day. 

This is why I was genuinely hype when Fwee revealed the yummy Shaking Synergy range, designed to lock in moisture and gives a versatile serum that can be used under and over make-up. With a 5°C drop in temperature on application, 3 weights of hyaluronic acid and a dual airy spray vs serum application, it can be used in a variety of ways to maximize your routine. 

But it needs to be tested! Can it really keep you cool in the summer and can you rely on it to blend with your make-up to keep up your fire? 🔥 

Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate: fermented yeast that helps boost moisture, heal damaged skin, rich in amino acids and peptides to boost and refresh skin. 

Aloe vera extract: deeply hydrating plant extract that helps stimulate skin cell healing, reduces irritation and smooth fine lines.   

Centella asciatica extract: deeply hydrating and soothing plant extract rich in healing, firming and soothing molecules to clear and brighten skin. 

Ulmus Davidiana root: deeply hydrating root extract that helps inhibit inflammation and skin reactivity, for smoother and clearer skin. 

Malachite extract: copper-rich extract that helps reduce bacterial growth on skin, protects collagen and elastin to firm skin and boosts natural skin immunity.  

Hollyhock extract: rich in a variety of sugars that form a protective, hydrating barrier that prevents moisture loss and gives skin a deep, dewy texture. 

Hyaluronic acid: water magnet that helps draw water into skin cells and hold it for lasting, deep hydration that carries your throughout the day.     

Mushroom extract: powerful hydration and soothing extract that helps deliver long-lasting moisture to refresh and boost skin bounce.     

Beta Glucan: deeply hydrating molecule that retains extra moisture and helps smooth and soften dry and damaged skin.     

Vitamin E: hydrating antioxidant that helps reduce the skin’s stress, provides protection against environmental pollutants and stimulates skin healing.  

Allantoin: moisturizing cell agent that helps exfoliate away oils and dead skin cells, whilst boosting skin repair underneath.     

Caffeine: topical caffeine helps reduce cell stress, boost circulation and bringing more radiance to sin, whilst also reducing puffiness for a refreshed face.  

As a base serum, this is a gentle hydrating essence that can be used in a variety of skin types (but is ideal for oily to combination skin). 

It is also water-based, so although it can be used with make-up, it's best used with other water-based foundations and formulas. Mixing it with an oil-based formula can create streaky looks and ruin all your beautiful efforts 💖

I've tested out a few mist serums over the years (from bubble to jelly to fine) and always love carrying a cooling serum around on hot days. It absolutely does not work with oil-based foundation, so keep that in mind, but adding it to the top of a powder or water-based foundation helps melt the look together and gives a brighter finish. 

I used the Fwee Shaking Synergy Mist as a general serum to help flood and hydrate the skin in my morning/AM routine. It was cooling, soothing and has a light gummy texture that absorbs easily. In two weeks of use, it helped reduce skin heat, redness and general irritation - whilst providing a light base for my skincare routine.

Above is my make-up application at a baseline. Then there's the boost of applying the Fwee Shaking Synergy mist on the right. It helps draw the blend together, added a light glow to skin and (best of all) added a cooling effect that helped evaporate away the heat. I think it's an awesome secret weapon for a summer make-up application and provides a light (but delicate) boost to your skin.

I think a great make-up/serum mist can be a great tool for more casual make-up looks, that may require a casual finesse whilst out and about. The Fwee Shaking Synergy mist is cooling, soothing and a really great addition to those who aren't afraid of a little shine to their look.
