Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream Review | Perfect Acne Moisturizer

Purito Seoul specializes in gentle skincare, with all-natural and refreshing ingredients. Is bamboo the secret to refreshed, healed skin? Is it acne safe? We put it to the test so you can know; is this for you?

Purito Seoul is highly regarded for their gentle and sensitive skincare, which helps nourish and strengthen skin. From their oat skincare line, to their famous centella – they have been incorporating powerful ingredients since 2017. From serums, to cleansers, to sun lotion; they have created minimalist and light skincare for all skin types. Their products are a favourite for acne-prone users, due to having simple formulas and limiting irritants and fragrances.

Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream

But none has been more famous than their Mighty Bamboo Panthenol cream. This cream has dominated beauty sales and has been regarded as the best moisturizer for sensitive and acne-prone skin. Balanced with 10% panthenol and bamboo extract, it contains emollients, humectants and simple madecassoside to create a gentle hydration that prevents dark spots forming and helps refresh irritated skin. Unlike moisturizers for dry skin types, it's formulated to be light and gentle on the biome – so that your skin can breathe and prevents spots forming. But, is it good in an outbreak? Is it truly the savior for irritated and damaged skin? Let’s put it to the test!

What’s In The Bottle?

It has a very simple and standard formula for a moisturizing cream. Apart from its hydrating agents and bamboo and panthenol, it really has little else.

Panthenol (10%): light vitamin B5 that provides deep hydration and cools irritation and redness, to help heal and strengthen the skin barrier.

Niacinamide: brightening vitamin B3 that helps reduce dark spots, even skin tone and imparts a lasting glow (coveted in K-Beauty).

Bamboo extract: provides rich hydration and antioxidants that reduce cell stress, protects against environmental pollutants and helps accelerate skin healing for clearer skin.

Sodium hyaluronate: plumping derivative of hyaluronic acid that helps hydrate and refresh skin barrier, by drawing water deeper into skin cells and improving retention.

Madecassoside: extract of centella that helps reduce redness and irritation, whilst also inhibiting dark spot formation for clearer and calmer skin barrier.

Who Should Avoid?

This moisturizer has a very gentle formula that is designed for sensitive and irritated skin. Therefore, it’s really safe and can be utilized in almost any other skin type. It would not be ideal for dry skin, as its a lightweight moisturizer and likely wouldn’t provide a deep enough hydration. It does also contain niacinamide and shouldn’t be used by those sensitive to niacinamide.

The Results

I have combination skin that is currently struggling through an outbreak. Coupled with some harsher treatment serums, I was trying to find a light moisturizer that could boost healing and refresh the skin. This moisturizer came into my routine on a particularly bad week; and it was a soothing balm. It is incredibly light, but sinks into skin immediately. It has a satin feel which is really nice to add to your skin and I was immediately adding a layer or two with every routine.

It was so, so nice to add to damaged and dry spots – really, it’s a very well formulated moisturizer. It was so light, my face never felt heavy and it disappeared easily under make-up. It also imparts a nice glow (thanks to the niacinamide) and provided the perfect cap to any routine. I would really recommend it to anyone looking to boost their moisture and enhance their skincare routine. It’s really delicate, lovely and works with any products.

Here you can see the before and after of two weeks use – improving redness, spots and irritation quickly. In fact, I enjoyed it so much (that my only complaint) is that I ran out too quickly. When I stopped using the cream, my skin had a rebound of irritation, which shows that it was doing a lot of heavy lifting of healing and soothing in my routine. It’s really a great moisturizer and I sincerely recommend it to anyone – but especially those with acne-prone, oily or sensitive skin.

Final Thoughts

I can immediately see why this moisturizer is one of the best in K-beauty. It’s simple, refreshing and suitable for a wide variety of users. It’s light, easy to layer and genuinely helps repair damaged, dry and irritated skin. I can only hope they don’t change the formula, because its a winning one.
