Skin1004 Hyalu-Teca Plumping Ampoule Review - Is Purer Better?

Skin1004 is a famous K-beauty brand that has long-since specialized in centella asciatica and how to bring out the best of soothing and healing from the valuable plant extract. Their obsession with centella comes from the variety of benefits that centella has in boosting healing, balancing the microbiome and reducing redness, flaking and inflammation. Skin1004 believed that centella has benefits for a variety of skin types; from their oily skin line (Poremizing) to their acne care line (Tea-Trica) to their most famous, the Hyalu-Cica skincare line.

Each has been formulated and thoughtfully prepared, but always held to a minimalist ingredient list to most benefit sensitive skin types. Their newest skincare releases, however, have delved into more complex and modern ingredients (which are likely to capture a new audience entirely). Those who really loved Skin1004's minimalist products might be confused to read the variety of ingredients included in their new products (from vitamins to peptides to PDRN extracted from centella). But the star of their newest line is TECA (or Titrated Extract of Centella Asciatica).

So, what is Skin1004 so excited about? TECA is simply the concentrated extract of centella asciatica, but it has been optimised to include only the best and brightest molecules extracted from the original plant. It basically removes all the excess from the plant, to create a concentrated formula for deep hydration, dark spot care and soothing. This includes concentrations of:

(1) Madecassic Acid (for deep redness and care of inflamed skin)

(2) Asiaticoside (stimulates collagen production for firmer, bouncy skin)

(3) Asciatic Acid (rich in antioxidants to help strengthen and boost the skin's protective barrier)

(4) Madecassoside (a rich anti-inflammatory agent that helps boost healing and reduce spots and scars)

So, it seems an exciting addition - and it looks like Skin1004 is trying to deliver formulas that advance the use of centella asciatica (creating rich results you can see right away). But, can you see them right away? We selected their top selling new ampoule (the Hyalu-Teca Plumping Ampoule) to test out their new range and see if it's worth it.

Niacinamide: brightening vitamin B3 that helps reduce dark spots, evens skin texture for a deep, radiant glow.

Adenosine: gently hydrating molecule that helps boost collagen production, improve cell healing and refresh red and irritated skin.

Banana Flower extract: high concentration of vitamins and polyphenols to soothe and reduce appearance of dark spots, for refreshed & clear skin.

Rose extract: soothing floral extract that helps reduce cell stress and prevent break-down of collagen to maintain rosy, firm and plump skin.

Pear extract: antioxidant-rich extract that helps protect the skin barrier against radiation and prevents dryness, by boosting hyaluronic acid levels in the skin.

Fig extract: soothing, rich fruit extract that helps soothe redness and inflammation, creating cooler and glassy skin.

Lactococcus probiotics: rich extract that helps re-balance an injured skin biome, improve moisture and soothes redness.

Ceramides: plumping molecule that helps seal cracks in the natural skin barrier, improving hydration retention and skin health.

Vitamin E: healing vitamin that helps smooth skin texture, improve hydration and reduce skin barrier stress for refreshed texture.

Collagen: plumping and hydrating molecule that helps seal the skin barrier and contain moisture.

Glutathione: restorative antioxidant that helps reduce appearance of pigment and dark spots for clearer, brighter skin texture.

Resveratrol: rich antioxidant found from berries which helps reduce free radicals from the skin biome and improves brightness and skin softness.

Peptides (Copper Tripeptide-1, Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 & 8, Hexapeptide 9): plumping signalling proteins that help stimulate collagen production, firm skin and smooth fine lines.

Skin1004 is great at gentle formulas, but this product does contain a variety of ingredients (which increases the potential of irritation). This ampoule is not as well suited for very sensitive or acne-prone skin.

It's ideally designed for dry skin and fine lines that need a deep boost, with healing agents & rich moisturizing extracts.

This rich, hydrating ampoule is designed as a refreshing balance to skin health and fine line care (with a variety of plumping agents that naturally stimulate collagen and firm skin). It seems like a dreamy addition to your routine to improve your glow, whilst also giving gentle floral extracts for vibrance.

I have sensitive skin and fine lines, so having a gentle infusion of peptides, along with hyaluronic acid and refreshing Teca seemed like a really fun addition to my routine. I added it to both my AM (morning) and PM (evening) routine for a hydration boost and to see the true results.

It has a bright, creamy texture that absorbs easily and actively cools your skin as you use it. It's incredibly pleasant to use and was easy to sub into my routine with any combination.

After just two weeks of use, you can see the before-and-after. I had improvement to my skin firmness and it was bouncier and brighter. It created subtle changes, but was deeply refreshing and provided great results I could feel. I would really recommend it for a broad variety of routines and especially for a mixture of hydration and fine line care. 

If you are struggling with mature skin, but don't want to reach for more extreme skincare products, this is an amazing ampoule to add to your routine for great vitality.

If you are after a gentle, restoring ampoule that will help your skin feel smooth and bright, this is an amazing addition to your routine. It's easily blended with other products, but provides refreshing results on its own.
