How to Apply Perfect Foundation?
One of the most important steps is skin-prep. Make sure your skin has been cleaned well and carefully apply your usual skincare routine. Apply a good amount of moisturizer to ensure there’s no dry patches on your skin, then follow with good SPF and wait to dry (up to 5 min). Then carefully apply both primer and foundation with a little dabbing sponge, lightly creating layers to prevent sliding and flaws. Lift your look with bronzers and highlighters for depth and apply eye makeup and lip make-up. Finish it all with a great setting spray.
How to Pick Your Foundation Colour?
Foundation is meant to best match your base colour, so that when you apply it is should blur effortlessly into your natural skin. The best way to do this is to test colours against your neck, as this part is less likely to be tinted by sunlight and creates a more natural tone-up effect. Pick a trio of colours close together to test, create a practice line and pick the closest. How to Apply Lip Tint?
First, it’s important to have a good base for your colour. Gently exfoliate your lips with a damp face towel or sugar scrub. Then, apply a light base of moisture with either a non-oil lip balm or moisturizer. Once your lips are hydrated, but dry to the touch, apply your first layer of lip tint. Gently tap with fingertip to ensure even coverage and don’t mash your lips together or you’ll create uneven patches. Leave first layer to dry for 5 minutes, then apply a second layer (with extra coverage on the inner lining of your lips). Try not to eat or drink for the first hour, to ensure a deep stain and then enjoy your bright lip colour.
How to Pick Make-Up Colours to Complement?
Although experimentation and fun is the point of make-up, if you are struggling to find colours that match you well, remember to match colours to your tone. If you have a warm hue to your skin, opt for warm berry colours from lips to cheeks for spring. If you have a cooler tone, opt for cold pinks and light blues for a fun, modern take on spring looks. Once you’ve found a great colour pop, remember to support it with similar tones (for clothes, jewelry and shoes) for a cohesive, bright look!
