But when they came out with a new ‘jelly cream’ I was pretty interested. Not only does it come with an incredibly eye-catching, deep blue colour it also transforms the lightweight jelly texture of their original ‘Collagen Jelly Cream’ to a deeper, healing format. Infused with a variety of extracts designed to cool and calm irritated skin, along with 10 different weights of hyaluronic acid.

What's In The Bottle?

Niacinamide: brightening vitamin B3 that helps reduce dark spots and even skin tone, leaving a gentle glow to skin.

Chinaberry leaf extract: rich extract that helps soothe skin irritation and redness, whilst promoting natural skin healing to help reduce acne spots and scars.

Ivy Gourd extract: refreshing extract that helps soothe skin inflammation and redness, for refreshed and balanced skin texture

Adenosine: restorative nucleoside that helps reduce fine lines, soothe skin texture and help firm and plump skin for a refined and youthful look.

Aloe vera extract: deeply moisturizing and hydrating succulent extract that helps smooth fine lines, reduce heat from cells and improve skin barrier health.

Eggplant extract: boosting extract that improves cell protection against environmental pollutants and stimulates healing, to improve skin texture and refresh spots.

Turmeric extract: healing extract that helps balance oils, soothe skin inflammatory conditions (such as acne, dermatitis and psoriasis) and improve collagen deposition.

Allantoin: moisturizing cell agent that helps exfoliate away oils and dead skin cells, whilst boosting skin repair underneath.

Ectoin: forms a protective layer that helps improve natural moisture retention and build a stronger barrier that repels environmental pollutants and UV radiation.

Ceramides: molecules that help fill cracks in skin barrier to help improve moisture retention and improve chronic skin dryness and irritation.

Hyaluronic acid: multiple weights of hyaluronic acid help draw moisture into skin cells to help plump and maintain skin hydration.

Edelweiss Stem Cell extract: powerful antioxidant treatment that helps improve collagen of skin, reduce fine lines and soothe skin cells from environmental stressors.

Peptides: cell-signaling molecules that help stimulate collagen and elastin production, smooth fine lines and improve skin firmness for a bouncy texture.

Who Should Avoid?

This rich jelly cream does have a sticky, thick texture that may not be beloved to those who can't stand a ‘heavy’ or ‘honey-like’ feeling on their face.

It forms a protective barrier, which will help soothe and refresh dry skin (but preference for texture is most likely to be the thing that makes or breaks this moisturizer for you!) Otherwise, it has a gentle format that is designed to be compatible with dry, oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin types.

The Results

I have sensitive skin and acne, so finding a barrier cream that works for improving deep hydration and firming skin (without triggering a break out), can be a hard balance. I added this moisturizer to my PM routine, as a sealing barrier cream before bed.

It's a cooling, lightweight jelly format (but it is thick and sticky). Even if you massage it in deeply (or use a Booster Pro device), it forms a protective film on your face that seals in moisture and acts as a true barrier cream.

After two weeks of use, this cooling moisturiser helped reduce face redness, improve skin firmness and helped heal older acne spots well for clean, refreshed skin texture.

Although it takes some time to get used to the sticky finish, a barrier cream is a valuable addition (especially in dry or cold weather❄️). It's also a great way to reduce pores and smooth skin, as it lets your skin drink up moisture throughout the night and prevents that textured look.

I'm always incredibly happy to find a barrier cream that's compatible with sensitive skin and acne, and this refreshing jelly cream was a big win!

Final Thoughts

This refreshing, soothing jelly cream is a great addition to caring for a combination of dry and oily skin types, looking to improve their glow and enjoy a deep moisture. It is a thick barrier cream that is only suitable for your night-time, before-bed routine and this thick/sticky finish may put off a lot of people.

But if you are after a refreshing barrier cream that will help infuse moisture, cool redness and refresh your glow, it's a strong recommend! ✨

FAQ - Medicube Hyaluronic Ceramide Jelly Cream

Is Medicube Hyaluronic Ceramide Jelly Cream good for oily or acne-prone skin?

Yes, though it’s on the richer side. The niacinamide and ceramide barrier-repair blend suits acne-prone and combination skin, but very oily types may prefer using it sparingly or PM only.

Does it help with dryness and dehydrated skin?

Yes. Ten weights of hyaluronic acid plus ceramides and Chinaberry leaf extract are designed to deeply hydrate and strengthen the moisture barrier, easing tightness and flakiness.

Who should avoid this cream?

Those who dislike a thick, sticky texture or “heavy” feel on the face may prefer a lighter moisturizer, especially in warm or humid weather.

Can it be used both morning and night?

Yes, it’s gentle enough for AM and PM use, though its rich texture and occlusive finish make it especially suited to a PM routine or as a final moisture-lock step.

Does it help with fine lines and skin texture?

Yes. Peptides and antioxidant treatment work to firm skin, smooth fine lines, and improve overall collagen support with consistent use.
